The Grundfos Foundation (The Poul Due Jensen/Grundfos Foundation) supports philanthropic activities within Water, Research and Inclusion and has the main ownership of the pump and water solutions company Grundfos.
Within the water arena, in collaboration with experienced international NGOs, the foundation strives to provide access to clean and safe drinking water for the world’s poorest in rural communities and forgotten refugee camps. They insist that the projects they engage with are environmentally, socially and financially sustainable and stay committed until they are convinced that each water project can ensure operation and maintenance in the long run.
The Grundfos Foundation was founded in 1975 by Poul Due Jensen, who was also the founder of Grundfos. He believed that companies have obligations that go beyond those derived from legislation and tax payments. Poul Due Jensen secured his beliefs and values by establishing The Grundfos Foundation, and today his values are very much still alive in the values of the Grundfos Group. Grundfos is a global leader in advanced pump solutions and a trendsetter in water and energy technologies, who is committed to pioneering solutions to the world’s water and climate challenges and improving the quality of life for all people.
The Grundfos Foundation has collaborated on numerous projects, from supporting water, sanitation, hygiene and research initiatives to limit the damages of the COVID-19 pandemic, to providing solar-powered drinking water for 200,000 people in Western Tanzania.
